Peripheral Minimal is proud to present this 12” E.P. Secrets in Bloom by Black Egg + Beta Evers. This first edition is limited to 100 copies on clear vinyl, so a sense of urgency is required…

Black Egg is a musical collective and allegorically ritualistic concept based in France, made up of Usher San (Anthon Shield / Die Puppe / Norma Loy) Corina Nenuphar (Ghost Actor) Peter Render and All von Phillox. Since their inception in 2014, they have assembled several releases on respected labels aufnahme + wiedergabe and Unknown Pleasures.

Beta Evers from Germany works alone, without any producers involved. Her genre-defying style is (perhaps) somewhere between electro and minimal wave. Besides her solo work, she contributes tirelessly to collaborative projects such as, Black Spider Clan, Zwischenwelt (with Heinrich Mueller), Flying Bodies, Radikale Analog Fraktion and Black Pond. Beta Evers is also known for her labels Kommando 6 (which she started in 2000) and Bodyvolt.

In 2019 Black Egg + Beta Evers teamed up for this four-track E.P. With hints of nostalgic 80’s minimal wave and smatterings of twenty-first century electronica, they have created a true masterpiece of beguiling and enigmatic compositions.

"Ottimo Ep di quattro tracce (limitato a sole 100 copie), frutto della collaborazione tra Black Egg e Beta Evers, due progetti che penso non necessitino di presentazioni, vista la loro lunga militanza nella scena, anche sotto altri nomi. L’alleanza franco-tedesca ci offre “Secrets In Bloom”, Ep all’insegna della coldwave più oscura e minimale; suoni rarefatti e la sensuale voce di Beta Evers caratterizzano “In A Lonely Place”; più ritmata “Lost In Desperation”, il brano più “accessibile” del disco, per una danza condotta sull’onda di pulsioni elettroniche e vocalizzi distorti. Cambio di facciata ed ecco “Sistina”, un mantra oscuro che avvolge l’ascoltatore col suo minimalismo oscuro. Chiude “Untold”,altro brano di coldwave glaciale; un “viaggio al termine della notte” affascinante che ha il solo difetto di durare troppo poco. Non ci resta che sperare che questo Ep sia solo il preludio ad un album."
