AMM Ammmusic LP (Black Truffle)
Black Truffle is honoured to present the first vinyl reissue of the classic debut album from AMM, AMMMusic. Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of its recording in 1966, this reissue makes one of the cornerstones of the experimental music tradition available again in its original form, replete with Keith Rowes beautiful pop art cover and the terse aphorisms by the group that served as its original liner notes. A testament to the interaction between the experimental avant-garde and the countercultural underground, the album was originally released on Elektra, recorded by Jac Holzman (the labels founder, responsible for signing The Doors, Love, and The Stooges) and produced by DNA, a group that included Pink Floyds first manager Peter Jenner. (Pink Floyd paid tribute to AMMs influence on their improvisational sensibility with the track Flaming on their debut album, named after the piece that occupies AMMMusics first side, Later During a Flaming Riviera Sunset).
CHRIS CARTERThe Space Between LP (Optimo)
Originally recorded between 1974 and 1978 at Industrial Records studio in London 'The Space Between' album was first released as a 90 minute cassette in 1980 on Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records label. It wasn't until 1991 that it was again released by Mute Records on CD. Although tracks from 'The Space Between' have appeared on numerous compilations since its release, the album has never been available on vinyl until now. This new vinyl edition on Optimo Music, now retitled 'The Spaces Between', doesn't include all the tracks of the original album but has been enhanced and remastered from the original two-track master tapes and has new cover artwork especially for this release.
CITÉ LUMIÈRELe Songe De Kepler LP (Polytechnic Youth)
After a short, late summer break (bar a few blink and youll miss them lathe cut 45 releases) Polytechnic Youth return to the fray with a mighty new LP which kicks off a hectic release schedule from now til Christmas; PY devotees will be delighted to hear… This one is killer, “Le Songe De Kepler” from Paris based duo CITE LUMIERE, initially released on cassette only via the fabulous French label “Err Rec”, in December 2017. With barely a second listen required, PY picked up on it and are delighted to release it on wax for the first time; filled out and expanded slightly with remixed tunes and with fabulous new sleeve art to boot…. Eleven mighty pieces of minimal synth / electronique pop, which tip their cap to those trailblazing early synth pop releases via early Mute / Blackwing Studios, Some Bizarre, early Cherry Red and those great Celluloid label releases in France which paved their own minimal synth course from the late seventies.
DOPPLEREFFEKTAthanatos 12" (Leisure System)
Dopplereffekts unparalleled timeline extends with Athanatos, their fourth release for Leisure System. Advancing the considerations of growth and decay as presented on their Cellular Automata LP, the duo Rudolf Klorzeiger and To-Nhan here explore genetic conditions and chromosomal influences defining mortality, with partial data points presented in a rare collaboration with fellow travelers Carsten Nicolai and Olaf Bender.
DIE PARTEILa Freiheit des Geistes LP (Bureau B)
DIE PARTEI was a one-off project featuring musician Tom Dokoupil (Siluetes 61, The Wirtschaftswunder)and the artist and musician Walter Dahn (Die Hornissen). The pair met up for a single weekend in 1981 to record "La Freiheit des Geistes" ("La Freedom of the Spirit"), a fantastic instrumental post-punk synthpop album. At times its forward thrust sounds cold, restless and hectic, at other moments it comes across as pleasantly winsome and melodic, plangent even. Film quotes and sporadic bursts of instruments (in particular Dokoupil's clean Vox guitar and a saxophone) flavour the music. "La Freiheit des Geistes" is an album of opposites in a state of mutual attraction, just as Dokoupil and Dahn intended.

V/ASowas Von Egal. German Synth Wave Underground 1980-1985 LP (Bureau B)
“Sowas von egal” is a collaboration between the Hamburg record label Bureau B and the Hamburg party series Damaged Goods. The divergent trajectories of a record company on the one hand and DJs on the other are happily aligned through a love and passion for seeking out, collecting, releasing and playing rare, remarkable music which simply needs to be heard.
The Damaged Goods DJs created the party as a danceable party where they could play music beyond the regular and repetitious repertoire of (dark) electro clichés. The focus is on seldom heard post punk and synth wave from the 1980s. Many of the old records had only been pressed in small quantities, often sold exclusively at the respective bands gigs. More than 30 years later, it is almost impossible to get hold of these tracks… until now.
